an engagement in Justiceburg, Texas

Clell and Ashley invited me out to his grandparents SPREAD in Rattlesnake land. I was a bit intimidated upon hearing about 122 snakes killed so far this season, but hey... new angles, new light, and and new inspiration. Right?

Definitely RIGHT. I loved hanging out at the Ranch and photographing these two! They were very gracious to work with me 1/2 the night and I'm so bummed I'm already booked for their wedding date. VERY BUMMED.

Thanks you guys! I had a great time.

alexa and brian

ahh....

what a night!

Alexa and Brian were married June 23, 2007 at Texas Tech Merkett Alumni Center. It was an outdoor ceremony on such a pretty day! Yes, it was HOT, but what day isn't in West Texas?

I started the afternoon at Sophisticuts in Lubbock, Debbie Trevino did Alexa's hair. This is a shot of her tiarra before they started on the creation.

Then it was the MAC counter. I LOVE the MAC counter! Always cool colors to saturate and have fun with.

Ahh! The dress! Check out all those buttons! Yep...each and every one had to be fastened by hand with a crochet needle

This is Alexa's dad. I love this shot of him fixing his tie.

Handsome Brian and his "non pink" boutineer. LOL

The colors were fabulous! I love the bright hues of orange and pinks together!

The Happy Couple!

Okay, I've been working my ring shots each week, really trying to come up with something new and unique to each couple. It turns out my video light works great at getting the detail out of the jewlery. I really like how this one turned out.

First dances are always a BIG favorite of mine. Such a great time in front of EVERYONE, for the bride and groom. I'm sure they are a bit nervous, but as the music continues and they sink into the song, it's just a great time! I absolutely ADORE first dances!

Thanks you two for a wonderful evening! It was such a great wedding and I've had the BEST time getting to know the two of you! You can view more images at Alexa and Brian's online gallery. Just click HERE.

testing out a slideshow

the cutest hiney ever!

I'm working on the sneak peek from Alexa and Brian's wedding, while tons of family is staying at my house from California! I'm so excited to have my family here for the first time all together, in like, FOREVER! (future blog posts to come on this time. My California neices and nephews are too cute!) We are having so much fun! But I think the kids are wearing us down. And the dog... he seriously has a vet apointment later and I think he's faking sickness, just so he can "get away". Kinda like doggie spa day!

Anyway, I was playing around with the slideshow feature in Picasa, which by the way, is the coolest software ever for online pictures and online chats. And I wanted to see if I could get this little booger working. Here it goes!

There are so many cool ways to show off your photos these days. I love the simplicty of clicking a few buttons and my sneak peeks from my weddings are "shared to the world". Very cool.

Facebook is another great way to share and tag friends as well. Do any of you have a facebook account? I do! Apparently, according to my wedding clients, it's the "cool mature" place to be. (as opposed to myspace...which I have also! LOL)

Leave comments! I love it when people leave comments on facebook, or Picasa!

Stay tuned!

pray for eli

I haven't used this blog much to share with you what Elizabeth is going through. She is so private about those things. But life is not going very well for her, and she needs the strength of many prayers. If you could, take a second out of your day to say a prayer for her!

ginger + brett (finally...)

Ginger Thames married Brett McDowell Saturday evening at her family home. It was so much fun! I've known Ginger's Mom, Candy for quite some time now, and it was such a great day just being there to watch this happen! Not to mention that these folks really know how to host a party! Great Music, Great Food, Great Drinks! The decorations were fabulous and the guest list peppered with friendly faces!

It was so much fun!

I LOVE the composition of this shot Stephanie took! That's what is great about having a 2nd shooter. I wish I had her at every wedding.

Okay...whew! Many, many more on their online gallery including images of Ginger in her dress out at her dad's ranch. Definitely worth the click thru. CLICK HERE.

Ginger, if you are reading this, which I highly doubt since you are in Mexico on your honeymoon, I LOVED photographing you! You are my "essay" bride and I love spunk like that! (wink wink)

Love,
Kristin

ginger + brett (coming soon!)

Okay, I have to post this one "teaser" shot, to let you know what's in store for the sneak peek of Ginger and Brett's wonderful wedding! I absolutely adore sunflowers and Ginger had them EVERYWHERE! Even sprouting out of the ground right at the ceremony site! Check back soon for further details.

cristy cross

Oh, gosh! I'm hoping she reads this and emails me the shot of the two of us from the balcony this weekend. Yoo hoo! Cristy!

I meant to mention her in my previous post, but Cristy Cross is a photographer friend of mine who is breaking into weddings on her own. When she asked if she could "tag along" to get prepared for her wedding season, I of course said YES!

She drove on over from New Mexico this weekend to shoot Kimberly and Beau's wedding. It was perfect, because she's good friends with the bride and knew her from church.

So a win win situation and I got to hang with Cristy for the day! FUN!

Check out her work, HERE.

Hi, Cristy!

kimberly + beau (it's really kimbo)

I love this shot! I've been shooting at first church since Kim's brother, Chris married Emilie. I LOVE First Church! I just noticed when typing the title for this blog post that Kimberly's lifelong nickname, Kimbo, takes on a totally different meaning now that she's married! It's the combination of their names. How cool is that!

The day started at the bride's home with a PJ breakfast for the bridesmaids. I had photographed some of this bunch back in highschool and got a kick out of seeing them again, all grown up and truly women that are living for our Lord. I love that! I love how HE works and weaves his way through all Spirits.

Lots of laughs this day! And one of my favorite moments was between Kimbo and her dad, at their home, once again, going over his roll in this grand affair. He was so cute with all his nerves and such. He was very concerned about getting the words right. "What do I say again?"

Okay, I known I've said this before, about finding the "perfect flower girl", but I swear these sweeties just keep getting cuter and cuter each wedding! Check this sweet little thing out! Those cheeks were begging to be pinched! Oh, my gosh! So, cute!

The groom reminded me of my brother-in-law, Craig. He's lanky, tall, and cute and so funny! I should have known his guys would be riots, too! They had him like this most of the day. I loved it!

This was one of my favorite moments of the day, too. I have many that set a place in my heart each wedding. Kimberly wanted to hear the worship music and stuck her head in the side door so she could hear. Dad stood between her and Beau so he wouldn't get a glimpse of her before the walk down. Just a great moment!

Happy Birthday, Devin!

Yesterday, was Devin's 41st birthday! And since I was photographing a wedding on his 40th last year, I wanted to try and make this one special for THE OLD MAN. LOL He loves my homemade pizze, and LOVES German Chocolate Cake, so I made both, and even managed to find time to shop for him a present. At his office, the radio doesn't come in very well, in fact, when you open the back door, it actually changes stations! He loves 101.1, old classic ROCK, cuz he's old and classic...LOL, but when you come in the back door, it changes to a Tejano Music Station. The boy needed some XM Radio.

Happy Birthday, Devin! We Love you!

leslie + ronnie (part 2)

As promised...wedding photographs!

With all outdoor weddings, you have to expect a few bugs. It just goes with the territory. But for the most part, the day was nice and sunny and yes, HOT, but still, a GREAT day!

Enjoy! You can view the rest of their pictures, HERE.

great website

erica + scott

"Photographs freeze fleeting moments in time. Nowhere is this more evident than with photos of people. You set up your subjects and trip the shutter. A second later your composition falls apart like a house of cards and people head on to the future."

I don't have the name of the man that said this, but I so agree! I met a very cool couple with wit and charm, and plenty of laughs at the wedding this weekend. She just emailed me this way cool site and in between album layouts and converting RAW files, I've been happily enjoying the photographs.

Go and see for yourself.

leslie + ronnie (part 1)

Just got back from San Angelo where I photographed Leslie's and Ronnie's Family Celebration at Cain's Cove by the lake. Despite the mosquitos, and the fact that I fried my laptop by spilling coffee on it, it was such a great weekend! I'm downloading the cards right now, but wanted to post a few from the rehearsal to get you excited! It was such a great weekend and I fell in love with a gazebo. Can one do that? I just loved everything about it. In fact, I wrote down the number on the metal seal that listed where it was made and by who. I've never felt this way about a gazebo before.

On to the images! I'll post the wedding tomorrow and try to get caught up on slideshows and galleries! Wedding Photographers and Summer Break! WOW!

brittany's bridal

Just finished the "sneak peek" of Brittany's bridal session. It's password protected of course, but I have such a shoe thing going down with these brides, I just had to post the opening shot.

Brittany, if you are reading this, send me an email and I'll give you the password.

melanie + joseph

What a week! Stephanie, my good friend and promising, 2nd shooter spent the weekend in HOT and sweaty League City, Texas photographing Melanie and Joseph's wedding. WOW! It was such a great weekend, with family and friends surrounding this couple, with fellowship and love. Just a great group of people to be around and work with. I have some of the best clients!

I've photographed Catholic weddings before, however, NEVER one this traditional and reserved in it's love of the Church and Sacrament of Communion. RICH! That's the best way to put it. I'm a Catholic girl and have been for almost 20 years, however, I've never attended a mass in a head viel, except the day I got married! Of course, out of respect for the church Melanie and Joseph chose, I sported the viel and SKIRT! I know...I promise I did NOT flash anyone with my knowledge. I stayed on my feel, for the most part and kept quiet. (until the reception, of course. LOL)

On to the photographs!

Melanie sleeps with Bunny. And yes, Bunny has met Joseph. I just love that she had Bunny with her, this last day of being a "single girl". It was great! I'm not sure if he got packed into the "honeymoon luggage:? I didn't check.

Funny little story, Melanie and her best friend Meghan, got married just 6 months apart and each chose the EXACT same wedding dress! That's how close these two are!

Stephanie and I played around with my new wireless flash transmitter. Sound technical, but once everything is set, so much fun! And FREEDOM! I'm still working on achieving the look I have in my head, and excuting it, but it's a great way to get the light OFF the camera and create dramatic results. LOVE this shot of a bridesmaid dress with Melanie's viel!

They saw each other ahead of time, and to be honest with you? I usually don't perfer it this way. I'm a sucker for that "walk down the aisle, first look", thing. But you know? I seriously don't think Melanie could have waited to see Joseph! She almost RAN down the concrete to find him in the courtyard and I was scrambling to keep up and keep her in focus. Great moment and she was just sooooo happy!

I absolutely adore this shot! I know it's not perfect, the focus is a bit off. (on her hair instead of her eyes) yet I had to show you all this shot. Stephanie took it, and it's the bride's sister, obviously moved by them seeing each other, and just the emotion it envokes! I LOVE IT! It just goes to show you that an image does not have to be perfect to tell the story. You can see the love, concern, and feelings she has for her sister, and they are all wrapped up in this one second, captured.

The beautiful bride with those piercing blue eyes!

The most adorable flower girls on the PLANET!

2nds before her walk down the aisle.

I LOVE this shot of Melanie first turning to see Joseph, right before their vows! I had less than 2 seconds to get this shot as the groomsmen repositioned themselves and Melanie was engulfed in my camera's frame by black tuxes!

This is Joseph and his Mom, Pat. Such a great moment! There's another GREAT MOMENT of the two of them on their gallery. CLICK HERE.

Nothing like being sung to from a wedding guest. This happens alot to us as we are on the dance floor with our gear, usually egging folks on! It's one of my favorite times of the day!

Thanks, Melanie and Joseph and your familes for showing us a wonderful celebration in League City, Texas! Be sure and check out the SNEAK PEEK on your Online Wedding Gallery!

I'm crazy busy in my wedding season right now and unfortunately have many clients waiting on their images and phone calls! I promise you are all on my mind and things will be taken care of. Please be patient and know that I'm thinking of you and doing my best to make sure all the "to do's" are taken care of.

I'll be in San Angelo for the weekend, but with the drive should be able to reach each of you that have left messges this week.

Take care and have a great weekend!
