Lonestar 2 - Ballistic 0

One more win and Lonestar is headed to the STATE CUP!!!!!!

We watched them play Ballistic last night out at the soccer fields and it was a bit chilly and windy. Nothing new for West Texas in the fall. LOL But golly! We couldn't hit a goal to save our lives. Seriously, the score should have been 20-0, but we kept hitting too hard, or hooking it far left or right. Kalyn scored in the first 1/2 and had an awesome assist to Carlyn in the 2nd. One more win, hopefully Sunday and we are headed to the State Cup in Dallas in May!

Way to go Lonestar!

This is what little sisters do during soccer games. LOL

Lizzi and Suzi play for Ballistic. Our girls have grown up with them in BB, VBall, and soccer. They are in 7th grade and quite young, but oh so tall and beautiful! I nickname them the "gazelles" because the run so tall and smooth! They couldn't stop us last night though!

These next 3 are of Claire's grandmother. I'm sorry but I can't remember your name and I would call you Mrs. Blackwell, but that's so not right! She's Chris's momma!

She was playing catch with the guys during 1/2 and I just loved the smile on her face! My shutters were very slow, and holding the 200 2.8 wasn't the greatest, but I just had to try under the soccer lights.

marilyn + lucy

Yep. I'm in trouble. I'll admit it now. The photograph above it of my "baby" Summer Zoe, an 11 year old. They girls LOVE Grease 1 and Grease 2 and wanted to dress this way for Halloween. No problem. I helped with the hair and makeup, because I'm such a hair and make up kinda girl. LOL

Summer reminds me totally of Marilyn Monroe, and Kalyn? A Total Lovely Lucy!

Summer had a costume party to go to at a friends, so I snapped a few after dropping her off. I warned her about bobbing for apples and teased a few about we like it when they wear makeup, because when we pick them up? We can tell if they've been kissing the boys! LOL

little red riding hood

After dropping off Summer Zoe at her party, Kalyn, (my oldest) had a party to go to herself. So, we headed over to Boo's (Lauren Heinrich) to pick her up so they could tag along together. Guess who met us at the door?

Yep! Red Riding Hood! How cute is this?! Her grandma helped her make it and she even had the basket with the candy. Add 2 pigtails and you've got an adorable Red Riding Hood! (Great job on the freckles, Shelley.)

mccall

This is McCall. You seriously, can NOT take a bad photograph of this lady. You just can't. And she's got the BEST yell when a trucker honks at her! LOL You go, GIRL!

I first photographed her several years ago before her Mom died. One of my very good friends, Lori was very good friends with McCall's Mom. When she asked if I would take Senior Pictures for her, I didn't even hesitate. She's was photogenic then and I knew she would be now. Duh?

We traveled all over Lubbock in search of the perfect backgrounds and found some new places and chased the light. My favorite thing to do. Her sister went along with us, which made it all the more fun and her cousin, Ashton. An aspiring photographer in her own right.

It was a wonderful evening!

Thanks, McCall.

The famous, "I got a honk!" shot.

the gallanos family

This is McKinley. She's absolutely the most precious thing I've photographed all week! Well, maybe the 2nd most precious, as I did point the lens at my children a couple of times. So, yeah, the 2nd most precious for sure!

I photographed Emilie and Chris's wedding in 2004 and we've been trying to get together and photograph their newest addition for quite some time. I've been busy, they've been busy.

In fact, Chris is the paster for Experience Life. I have yet to hear him preach but I have heard him marry couples! LOL

Anyway, I just had to share some of my many favs from out time together. This little girl is just so cute! (you two are too, but golly...hard to outshine her!)

Okay, I love this series! Just check out the look on McKinley's face. She's thinking, my parents are so goofy!

I love photographing "littles" at their home so they can get used to me in their surroundings. That way, when we do go places like "the park", they already know me and don't get the stranger anxiety that many Littles can get.

Cutest photo EVER! She's like waving at me thinking, "Don't mess with them, they do this all the time". LOL

ashley + clell

Ashley + Clell were married Saturday night, the weekend of the Sausagefest. Which is so fitting because Ashley is a "Kitten" and everyone who is anyone in Slaton knows that Kittens, Bednarz's, Heinrich's, and 1/2 dozen other German Families are BIG when it comes to Sausagefestivals. So, Saturday we celebrated them and Sunday, the majority of the Germans, went to the festival. Me? Sunday was my birthday and I celebrated with Kalyn (and family) in Midland, watching Lonestar kill some Midland team. Happy Birthday! LOL

Her wedding was at Christ the King Church and it's been a while since I've photographed there. They've removed the wall behind the altar and I must say the effect for photographs is wonderful. Quite lovely. But see for youself! Long post because Ashley is a Slaton/St. Joseph Girl, and dang it, it's my blog!

On a side note, please say a prayer while looking at these for Ashley's mom. She had just gotten out of surgery the DAY before her wedding. Yep. She needs a prayer!

ashley

I never get to share bridals. And it's such a bummer because most of my brides are HOT! This is Ashley and she got married on Saturday. I'm working on her wedding sneak peek but wanted to start a new thing of sharing the bride before the wedding.

Enjoy!

the proposal

I've photographed a proposal before. And I would show you the images, but it was back when I shot film, and I don't even have the negatives. Allyson does. Allyson? Hmm...lots of Ally's in my life! And I've never met one I didn't like.

This is Allyson Moffitt. And she is getting married this spring and according to Jonathan, the cute, tall, skinny dude with the goatee (his description in a text), she LOVES my photography! Well, those of you that have met me, know I'm like melted butter when you say you love my photography and when Jonathan shared with me his scheme to surprise Allyson with a proposal, well, I just had to be there!

Like I said, I've done a proposal once before, but gosh! I had forgotten how nervous and excited I was! I about peed my pants waiting behind the memorial plaque! Imagine how nervous Jonathan must have been! I asked him if he had anything planned and he said he was going to "wing it". From the heart and REAL is what it was.

Judge for yourself from the images. Congratulations you two!

Grey's, the Heart of the Matter

WARNING.
if you haven't watched Grey's, then don't read this post!!!!!!

I'm typing and discussing this week's episode VIRTUALLY, meaning I'm typing, discussing, sharing my thoughts as I watch. LOVE this macbook!

Ok, what's up with the "previously on grey's" showing the kiss between Alex and Izzie? Hello! That was forever ago! Makes you think about why they are showing that scene though. I wonder if they will inter-twine all episode and Alex will become her friend and priest, because Izzie is all about dumping her soul to folks. I mean, how else did a rich millionaire fall in love with her? But you know, if she does confess the affair to Alex, will he take it well? Will he too treat Izzie like a hurt puppy and make her feel like the world is going to be OK? Or will he be angry and hurt and just plain jealous cuz the last time they were in the supply closet, NOTHING HAPPENED, you big jerk. (I'm still mad at him for the elevator scene last week.) Sure Callie and Izzie are "tearing down", but I seriously think Alex wants George in the ring and he's insanely jealous. Not sure why, maybe because George has the sweetheart role down for all sexy women on the show, or maybe because he wants to be cool intern instead of Jerk Guy in Elevator. Let's watch and find out. You know though, with all the talk of fights and action and confession, they seriously should have titled this episode, "Hit me with your Best Shot". LOL

You made a mistake, but we took vows, so she forgives him? Oh, my gosh! I honestly think Callie is on drugs! Why esle is she being so complacent? Kick his ass, girl! Or at least kick him to the curb, or here's a thought, why not admit your insecurities with your rich father/upbringing and realize that you shouldn't have let the grieving dude talk you into getting married just because you wanted someone to love you. Or how about NOT marrying him and just continue to let him break your vajayjay instead. That was so much more entertaining to watch then you sitting there comatose on the bed saying you forgive him. Girl? Where's that Latino heritage? JLo wouldn't just sit there if someone "Tim McGrawed" her hubby, Marc Anthony's crotch during a concert. The girl would TEAR DOWN! She's would be all over her, ripping her hair out, digging in the stilletos. The girl would fight.

FIGHT FOR YOUR JOB AND YOUR LIFE, CALLIE.

I think the woman seriously needs to move out the hotel and into the basement again. geez....Bailey's going to have to kick her ass before the episode is over.

Going away for the weekend, hmmm...48 hours of un-interrupted sex. What dirty, horny doctors Seattle has. McDreamied is now a verb, thanks to Christina. How cool is that? And how come when I ride in elevators nothing exciting happens? I don't get offers like that. No McDreamy's in my elevator rides.

Damn right she's the new Natzi. Christina is so going to use the pain from Burke's dumping to become the BEST Doctor ever. And I'm sure she's thinking a bit about what Mama Burke said during their conversation. But do Natzi's teach just because they are in a teaching hospital?

Worlds Oldest Intern, (WOI), Norm. I love him. He's bringing in the over 60 demograph, huh? Now when I discuss the show with the generation older than me they just might understand what I'm talking about. They will watch because of Norm. LOL

George running around, which I love, but did you notice the Timbuk 2 bag? way cool What does he carry in there? His clothes from sleeping with Izzie? Oh, and talk about karma. The dude cheats on his wife, and then runs into a supply cart, racking himself. LOL

Cute new haircut by Izzie, but didn't do her any good with Miss Callie did it. She still said...

cafeteria
noon
be there

It's a GIRL FIGHT! LOL They are going to duke it out and my money is on Callie! LOL That is if she can grow her spine.

Lexi and Christina. Christina is fighting the fight for Mere. Yep. Neither one like her. She's dealing with the aftermath of their cute discussion last week, and is Derek really out to teach here? Or is he using Lexi to get to know how Meredith's ticks? Because dude, that will so not work with your dysfunctional woman. Why are you becoming such good friends with the Other Grey?

The Norman, WOI is cracking me up with all his references. Trying to be cool, I bet he even reads urbandictionary.com, he covered Grey's entire 3 seasons of vocabulary, "focus on the medicine", Meredith says to him. Lifk she really needs to do that herself. They told the wrong person she was dying and then LOST her when the realized it.

The storyline with the work-out junkie who broke her ankle, wicked. She lost 40 pounds to move in with him. Yeah, there's a great guy for you. I love Bailey's comment about "how romantic", and then his need to defend himself. Yeah, dude, give it up. Just like the smoking. It's Bailey. She's treat you and before the episode is over, she will get her stab in, so hang tight for that one.

Richard's neice is back in the hospital and Izzie had to do a emergency trach. That was INTENSE. Maybe the scene shown at the beginning between her and Alex is because they are now on the Chief's neice. Hmm..insteresting. She will confess to Alex and the gang why Callie wants to "kick her ass". I'm trying to remember if anyone even knows they slept together. Does anyone know? I'm thinking NOT.

Lexi is getting so courageous and her telling Christina she's NOT 3, it's either Grey or Lexi. Very brave standing up for herself. Guess Derek's support is helping.

YES! She confesses the Alex! She told him. Izzie told Alex she slept with George. She's a terrible person and is going to take one punch from Callie because she deserves it. LOL But wants Alex to get Callie off of her in case she's dying. I love that. And how does he react? Of course, like a total jerk and takes it personally. But that's OK. This may be what Izzie needs to realize that this is not about her.

Every episode makes me cry, which is why I'm convinced it is such a great show. First cry tonight? When Camille, Chief's niece remarks, "please don't be my doctor right now, be my uncle. I want to go home." Oh, gosh...rippin of the heart. Wonder if I shall cry again this episode?

Lexi grabbed his hand, (football dude) cuz she's the emotional opposite of Mere and it's causing hell for Christina. Derek doesn't think she's teaching very well, and removes her off the case. Wow. Maybe they did more than flirt at the bar?

I'm not sure how I feel about Adelle wanting the Chief to "save our baby girl?" Yes, she lost a baby and she's very emotional I'm sure, but come on woman! The girl has been sick for quite some time and it's very hard to fight this. Quality of life instead of Quantity of life. Our family knows about that lately.

Lexi Grey is a good girl. She's very sweet.

Those are words just uttered by Norm to Christina. WRONG thing to say! Way wrong! Pissed her off. And where is he going? or where did he go? And if on Private Practise they can zoom over to client's homes all the time and save them from fertilizer, can't Norm drive his Buick Town Car to the lady's house (they mistakenly told was dying) and make sure she hasn't gassed the place?

"Selfish and competitive. I kick ass." She thinks being selfish is a good thing. Maybe so, but then don't teach. You can't teach and be selfish. But I love Yang. She's my fav right now. Meredith is too, but only because Derek loves her. And according to Mark, he thinks thats the only reason she made it out of being an intern is because Derek loves her. You read that implication, right? And he has a right to be a little upset, after all, she lost his patient.

"What are you fighting about? Whatever it is, it's not worth it." Yes, Alex says this or something similar to this several times. The dude has no S.A. vocabulary and it's just plain sad. Who's writing for him? And I love how George is running, physically, the entire episode! From the beginning, trying to find cute haired Izzie, to running to get to the cafeteria and arriving late. He's late, every time he runs. Hm, what analogy are the creators wanting us to grasp? Running from life and still coming up short? Ahhh.... what a light bulb moment. We get it.

It's now time for the fight. I'm loving the drums and soundtrack during the confrontation. The "hey heys are superb! Everyone's watching! I love it! Poor patients as every single bedpan employee of Seattle Grace is in the cafeteria at the SAME TIME. Hello! There are people dying somewhere and they want to watch a girl fight. Well, I do, too! LOL

I wanted to talk? Those were the words? Geez? Come on, Callie! Grow a spine. You know how to operate on one. I can't believe they didn't fight!? Wait, maybe I can. Maybe Callie needs to talk to her and say things because I think I figured out why she doesn't have a spine this episode, SHE's PREGGO! You think? I'll un hit the pause button and find out. (I've been writing during the commercials.)

The severity of what Izzie has done, broken the marriage vow, slept with a married man, hit her in that one moment in the cafeteria. She now realizes the severity of her actions and what she has done.

The stupid girl killing herself for her boyfriend is bleeding and they are operating on her. Baily is operating on her. She ROCKS! "People just want to be loved", is so true. George was hurting, after his Dad died, he wanted to be loved, feel loved so he married Callie.

Derek, Christina and Lexi are operating on the paralyzed guy and Derek is such a stud that with his INTENSE eyes, he turns Christina into a gracious giving teacher. Yes! Christina taught THREE!

And Norman drove the Buick and went and found the lost, non-dying patient. Get this, because they told her she was dying, she did the following and is happy and giddy telling them about it:
  • quit her job
  • dumped her loser boyfriend
  • one way ticket to Iceland

And because they corrected their initial consultation and told her in fact, she's NOT dying, she's now crying, annoyingly, I might add, over this:
  • quit her job
  • dumper her boyfriend
  • gave up her apartment that had good parking
Life is good in Seattle, huh? Maybe Norm shouldn't have found her? Although, now that Dr. Grey is screaming at him, he approves.

Callie gave the news to Ruthi's boyfriend. He's smoking, and apparetly never quit and really wanted a HOT girl, so it's his fault, right? His fault that Ruthie died. And she totally grows her spine right there on the spot. But she still can't confess the pregnancy, if there is one. She doesn't tell Bailey what is bugging her and the way Bailey asked her one last time, what is wrong with her, I'm guessin since she didn't? Bailey is going to talk to the Chief. Yep. She's talking. One thing to note here, Callie's words of "you don't hurt someone you love". Sure you do! Love hurts all the time. Suffering is part of life, and if you didn't have suffering, you wouldn't know love. But the spine is grown and she definitely changed my mind about the fight scene. When she told Izzie "don't you dare come to me for forgiveness, you traitorish bitch." LOVED it. And her girl power speech about "you did this to a Woman", right on!

I haven't cried again yet, but the scene with Camille and her Uncle was wonderful. That girl, whoever she is was a most excellent actress and I just loved it. She cried.

I'm loving the Alex and Izzie part. I've always said from season one, that I wanted them to get back together. To have a relationship. They are two of the hottest together, but apart, I don't like them so much. They both are so immature and need each other to teach life's tough lessons. And with him coming into her room at the end and handing her the kleenex, he just redeemed himself for the stupid stunt in the elevator last week. He's the bad boy we stupid women are all attracted to, yet he's growing a soul. I like this story line alot. I love that he mentioned the "torch for Denny" and held her accountable for turning him down. He's carried a torch for her and maybe that's wy he couldn't commit to Ava.

Question for any medical blog readers out there, what does it mean when a person "gets written up"? Norman and Meredith are getting written up by Mark for the mistake they made. Apparently, annoyingly cry baby is happy because Seattle Grace is purchasing her a house, and very NICE house. So, she doesn't really need the job or boyfriend or parking. LOL

I have to laugh because HELLO! Someone mistakenly tell me I'm dying and buy me a house! I could really use one after the emotional "i live in white trash" outburst I had last night. LOL But seriously, I've read the real estate section when I was in Seattle this month and I know how much a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home in that community costs. It's pricey baby! So, when Meredith and Norm get written up, what exactly happens? They just tack that onto their student loans? The hospital doesn't pay them until they pay off the house?

So, is Adell leaving him for good because of her grief from losing not only the baby she never told him about, but also her niece. Geez... I'm not sure I want them to follow this storyline.

And George and Callie haven't resolved this confession. She's just standing in the rain, he is standing there also, she goes back to the hotel, turns out the light and just sits there. No baby confession? Please, please don't tell me you are going to kill yourself or something. Did the spine you grew on smoking dude just melt from the rain? Come on, Callie! I'm rooting for you! Dance in you underwear, baby and be Happy!

And Derek said some powerful, I'm not having sex with you all weekend, words. Meredith thinks he's friends with Lexi and is wondering what they talk about. This starts the entire part of the episode where I cry again.

I want to marry you.
I want to have kids with you.
I want to build a house,
settle down
grow old with you.
I want to live until I'm 110 and die in your arms. (your dry, wrinkly, flabby, arms, but yeah...there.)
I don't want 48 uninterrupted hours,
I want a lifetime.

ahhhh

and what does Meredith do? Say?

She squirms.

He understands, and then proceeds to use Mark's words for his non-proposal.

He understands, you are just getting started. Deep down, you are still an intern and you are not ready, Things can't stay the way there are. He doesn't want to have HOT sex in elevators or supply closets. Maybe you will be ready someday, and he will wait. He will wait for her.

Wait. When you "wait", can you have HOT sex in elevators?

Oh, but get this. What if while I'm waiting, I meet someone who is ready to give me what I want from you. In other words, if Lexi keeps listening, to him, and smiles with her pretty, glowy, I'm bright, skin, he will just paste Mereidth's face onto her head, right? And marry her? I think his proposal turned into a threat. In other words, Meredith, GROW UP QUICK or you will lose you elevator sex and we all know the world could use more of that.

I mean come on, Derek! You know you fell in love with her because she is dark and twisty and you lived a completely easy, I'm the only boy among the sisters, spoiled rotten WASPY life. You like the bad girls. Addison cheated on you, but that's exactly what you needed to break out of your crisp, white mold.

Come on, Derek. You need her.

Oh, and then because Lexi is bright and shiny, she thanks Christina for showing her how to suction the blood to find the internal, part that she needs to clamp, sew, etc, to save football dude. She thanks her, and I loved Christina's reply...

"That's my job 3."

Until next week..

kate turns 5!

Yesterday was Kate's 5th birthday. I can't believe she is 5! I was lucky that it fell on my day, Wednesday. Dalton asked me yesterday why I liked Wednesdays. Every time we get into the car from school I say, "Boy. I LOVE Wednesdays.". I've been waiting for him to ask, and yesterday he did. I got to tell him that is my favorite day of the week, because it's the day I get to see them. He did that cute, little awkward, embarrassed smile he does so well. Too cute!

Well, my girls were out of school early, so we all went to pick Kate up at Mrs. Atwood's class, camera in hand, AND a really cool Hello Kitty Balloon. It was so much fun seeing how excited Kate was that she was having a birthday. She's such a little charmer!

Dana King, a very good friend of Elizabeth (kate's mom), brought the cookies. You can see a shot of the cute cookies in a sec. I was too busy photographing Kate's school room for the Austin Folk. They are all coming this weekend for Kate's official B-day party.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, as I'm an image driving person. I have this picture in my head of Kate when she was born, that is film. If I can dig through my pictures and find it, I will share it here. We were talking about her BIRTH day the other day and I mentioned when I came to see her in the hospital, she was so tiny and quiet and had hardly any hair. She then replied, "you were alive when I was born?" I know she meant to say, "there" instead of "alive", but for one brief second, I felt young.

LOL

things that make you go, "hmmmm"

I interrupt this blog to bring you an excert from reading time this morning.

Let the world unfold without always attempting to figure it all out. Let relationships just be, for example, since everything is going to stretch out in Divine order. Don't try so hard to make something work - simply ALLOW. Don't always toil at trying to understand your mate, your children, your parents, your boss, or anyone else, because the Tao is working at all times. When expectations are shattered, practice allowing that to be the way it is. Relax, let go, allow, and recognize that some of your desires are about how you think your world should be, rather than how it is in that moment. Become an astute observer....judge less and listen more. Take time to open your mind to the fascinating mystery and uncertainty that we all experience.

uh, yeah

the sharks

Look at these adorable faces! Come on! How could a girl say no?

Luis, on the right, and Anthony (left) are related to our AWESOME goalie Anissa on Lonestar. Luis is her dad and Anthony, her cute, adorable, don't he know it! Baby bro!

LOL

I no longer photograph team sports. Well, that's not entirely true. I photograph my daughter's teams. But typically, I prefer the girls in white. But today, I just couldn't help myself. These are the SHARKS. They play soccer in Lubbock and are too cute for words!

I don't think the Beaver asked this before

Ok, MOM and DAD, stop here, because I know you would not want me discussing this on an open forum, but since I share almost everything here, I had to give you a glimpse of my day.

Kalyn asked me what a T-bag is. As a parent you get teachable moments that can rip your soul apart and if you keep your cool, a definite opportunity to bring it back to God. Because, all things lead to God or they should.

So, she's in the bathroom telling me about a conversation in Science class yesterday and then said she wasn't sure what they meant, but some fellow was talking about T-bags. What a nice fellow, huh?

I thought for sure it had something to do with weed, marijuana, or such. You know, "dime bags" or quite possibly maybe it had to do with "douche bags". I tried every situation and slang I have heard in my almost 40 years and all were getting shot down by my daughter, who seriously didn't think that was it.

So, we googled it and found this wicked cool web site that all GOOD PARENTS should have bookmarked and refer to daily. And you can click yourself below for the definition.

Grey's Anatomy, Week Three

Is that the title? I'm not sure, because I didn't see/hear, but I'll find out and put it there later. I'm typing this during the commercials and LOVE talking about it as I'm watching. I so wish Stephanie and Julie were here! Grey's is so good to talk about. Don't get me wrong, my girls are good, but they don't remember EVERYTHING the way the 3 of us remember EVERYTHING and I just love all the innuendos and cut downs. The residents are just so darn S.A. I love it!

Okay, I'm speaking random here, but here's my take on the episode so far.

First and for most, Derek and Mere in the supply closet. Seriously. Can they give us a bit more than just the putting of our clothes on? I liked last week's episode better.

Really old guy, (ROG) total crack up! He woke up and knows everything about everyone. How long was he dead? Or semi comatose, 3 years? And this is the dude's room they camped out in all the time. right? LOVED the "hot and cold" comment about "Brain Doc" and Meredith. That was great. And the way he's calling Izzie "Blondie", I love that. Then for him to go and try to die, and her pulling cords out right and left, that was AWESOME! The lamp chord? LOL He's Izzie's friend right now and her realizing the selfish woman she is, that it really isn't about her. George's marriage being a disaster is NOT about her. He never should have married her. She never should have married him. I'm glad they did, because it made great TV, but hey, she needs ROG (really old guy) to talk to. But he dies, so now Izzie is back to finding someone else to confess and stay in her "I'm selfish" phase.

George still hasn't told Callie, and the fact that he is with the lady and the tongue cancer who he encourages to talk, is so IRONIC! Don't you think? She totally laid into her friends, and now will have to deal with the fallout when she is in recovery. IF she even makes it to recovery, after all, Cowboys, Richard and Mark are being Adventure Boys and scoping out new unchartered territory because they both feel inadequately OLD. They start the surgery and then have to be bailed out by Derek. Who then has to talk Alex through the gross eyeball, needle thing. YUCH!

Meredith still hasn't told Christina about her and McDreamy, but Christina knows, (of course she knows) and she's milking it for everything it's worth. Totally pulling the "I'm sad" routine, which got Mere to switch with her for a surgery and an intern, which then put her in charge of her sister. When Lexi tried to intubate the dude that came in the ambulance, and he ended up dying, well, at first I thought Meredith was such a wench. And in reality she was. I loved how Bailey got involved and made her see that she owed Lexi an explanation about her mom. Oh, and during that time, did you watch Lexi's face when Mere talked about it? She's going to really be an asset to this season and so far, in my book, holding her own.

Bailey trying to help Callie do her job and Callie just sitting there. What is up with that? This is not "dance in my underwear" go after the guy, Callie. This is I'm beaten and deafeted Callie, and I don't like it. But the end of the episode speech and the "pecking order" thing, was perfect. And then in the previews, if we get to see Callie and Izzie in a cat fight next week? Well my money is on Callie! LOL

Um...what else? Oh, yes. The butt head Alex in the elevator and what he said to the interns about George being a "repeater". Broke my heart. And Lexi's. And old man Gilmore started to say something and then didn't. I get the pecking order, but really felt the writers missed an opportunity there. They were off duty and the "respect" should have ruled out. Alex needed a lesson. What a turd. It would be great to see him and George duke it out.

George told. He seriously told.

Oh, man! What a great season so far! I can hardly wait for next week!

what I want to be when I grow up

CYBERSISTER's BLOG POST

What do I want to be when I grow up? What is your dream job?

I'm doing it.

Seriously.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I'm in places like Jamaica or Boston and realized my brain and camera (and mostly God) have gotten me there.

But seriously, I'm doing what I was created for. And it's the greatest happiness to know and breathe and feel that. (I seriously don't think he wanted me chained to my computer and I'm working on that part of the DREAM JOB. LOL)

I love being a photographer.

spamarrest

Yipers! I signed up for a spamarrest account about a month ago, and guess what? You have to log into your spamarrest account and approve the mail, but I wasn't doing that, which is OK, but now I have almost 50 mail messages from folks for the last month.

I'm so sorry!

If you've been trying to email me and haven't heard from me, THIS IS WHY! Please be patient, I'm slowly going through them.

And thatnks, Steph and Brittany for giving me the heads up!

LOL

For such an acclaimed "techno geek", I'm sure not spamarrest savy. I never did like Spam though...

Cowboys 25, Bills 24

Did you watch?

Oh, my gosh! That was such a nerver wracking 4th Quarter! Can you believe Folk? He kicks his career longest FG, not once but TWICE! OH, my!

I loved Romo during his end of game interview, when Michelle of ESPN asks him what he was thinking at the end of the first half when he had 4 interceptions.

His reply, "Is that what I had? I thought it was more like seven!"

LOL

Way to go COWBOYS!

Okay, I don't normally work on Mondays. I HATE Mondays. To me, they are a wasted day. No one wants to ever let the weekend go, and when you work Saturdays, well, Monday's are your Sundays. So, on a typical Monday, I'm in my PJ pants, doing Quickbooks and entering data and just playing catch up from my busy weekend. Oh, add laundry and grocery shopping, cleaning house etc. Monday is my Saturday.

So, when Lori called about photographing Hayes, for me to use a Monday? Well, that's a BIG deal. But golly, I think I got the much better end today!

Just check this cutie pie out! So, sweet!

Thanks, Lori! He's absolutely beautiful!

emily + phil (the wedding)

You couldn't have asked for a prettier day. Perhaps a bit less wind would have been nice, but clear blue skies? My favorite.

Emily and Phil wedding was yesterday and I had a fabulous time photographing them! Toni Daniel came to help and we had a fabulous time. I don't have many photographs to share of the guys at this point. Maybe later. She still has those files, but I still have lovely ones to share of what I took. So, without further ado..

We started the day out at Emily's Dad's Farm with a little dove hunting and lots of good fun and food.

The ceremony was held at First Baptist Church. Great place for a wedding, however, (stepping up on my soap box here), it's a drag for a photographer like me when I'm limited to the BACK of church for photographs. UGH...I HATE this. I understand it, and oblige by the rules, but geez....church ladies? Please understand that it is my goal to remain as unobtrusive as possible and I would NEVER in a million years crawl around all over the altar to photograph a ceremony. But it would be so nice if instead of guests photographing the ceremony with crappy cell phones and horrible direct flash, if they would trust us to do the job, by allowing us a bit more freedom than the balcony or 4 pews from the back. I hate that I can't get the close up shots of the couple's faces and really capture that moment for them, FOREVER.

But I obliged by the rules and still managed to get some decent ceremony shots. Just a shame really, that some photographers before, ruined it for the rest of us.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled blogging. LOL

What a rock!

I loved the lights in this one.

Right after putting on her dress. So cool!

My favorite yummy lighting! Doesn't she look amazing!

I snapped this one as we were off to take photos of the maids and bride. LOVE it!

First Baptist this time of day is filled with warm glows and we took advantage of that with a few quick portraits.

Emily ROCKING the dress!

Adorable flower girls!

Chris Collum of FLOWERLAND did the amazing flowers!

Emily and her sisters.

Okay, before the ceremony we had some down time in the bride's room and had a discussion about appropriate ages of men and things. It was such a fun time and I won't go into the details of the discussion, but I loved the images it produced!

Love this one of Emily and her dad before their turn down the aisle!

First dance.

I've photographed in the Petroleum Club before, but I've never seen a bride do this before! I LOVED the feel of the ball room! So much fun!

I had to include a shot of Laura and Jason, one of my couples for 2008. Very cute!

Okay, I have to say this because I'm hoping it will get a few comments from all the Midland Folks that might read this blog. What is up with the men and their nipples? Anyone? Or is this a Will Ferrel SNL sort of thing and it has nothing to do with Midland? But seriously, I bet Toni and I were flahsed at least 3-4 times Saturday! It must be the camera and their need to be famous. Right?

Thanks you two! You can see the rest of your sneak peek by clicking HERE.

Congratulations!

emily + phil (the rehearsal)

I'm in Midland again, sitting at the Hilton waiting to meet Emily and her girls at the salon this morning. I've already been dove hunting with the guys and I must say, they cook in style! I'll blog more about that when I get back home. I just wanted to blog a few photos from last night's rehearsal and see if I could edit in iphoto. I have yet to upgrade the macbook to Photoshop CS3 due to all sorts of reasons. So, how do these look? Other than converting a few to black and white, I did nothing. Which is definitely obvious I think. Hey, when I get back home, I will work on the same images and post again the AFTERS. I love stuff like that!

See you Monday!

I've had my macbook for over a month for now and everytime I show someone the "new toy", of course we have to play with photobooth. I promised you some images, and here are a few of my favorites!

kate and dalton (week 4)

Okay, so, I'm major behind on blogging about Kate and Dalton. And add to the fact that I totally forgot my camera the other day during Kate's "parents watch me dance day", and you know, Austin folk related to Eli? Just shoot me now.

So, to make up for my brain fart, I decided to take photos no matter what of them today and it was definitely a run around day and like Julie tells Garett. I'm going to treat your kids like my kids and what we are doing, your kids are going right along "for the ride".

Well, today was BUSY! Very busy! But we had a ball being busy together. And if Dalton somehow becomes an orthodontist when he's older? I'm totally responsible.

my favorite burger

I'm sitting at the GMC Service Center AGAIN, 3rd time in one week and am rethinking my decision to ever buy a new car. Yes, it's been nice riding in the lap of luxury, but geez...I'm not riding much lately! And at least never buy a new one again without extending the warranty out the WAZUU. I've spent $2000 on my car in the last week and all because the warranty went out at 75,000. YES. I drive my car, ALOT. But that's an entire different blog post. And since I'm tryin to be "bright and shiny" and not dwell on the fact that my precious car is quickly falling apart, I will instead CYBER BLOG this week.

What is your favorite burger?

Undoubtedly, not a home grown burger, but one from Chili's Bar and Grill.

Chipotle Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger
description from the menu,
spicy and smoky with chipotle pepper sauce, blue cheese crumbles, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato. YUM!

I think I shall order one and don't they have curbside pickup?
